Does Eating Fast Food Cause Diabetes?

Does eating fast food cause diabetes type 2 and increase the incidence of heart disease. A study done in Singapore showed a correlation between the amount of fast food consumed and the incidence of Diabetes.  Those who ate fast food twice a week or more had a 27% increased risk of developing diabetes and a 56% increased risk of dying from coronary heart disease.  While this study has no individual data and does not prove western style fast food causes diabetes the study, there is clearly a reason for suspicion.  It will be interesting to repeat this study in other areas of the world as well.  In the meantime it is prudent to maintain as healthy a diet as possible.
